Physical activity stimulates pathways in the brain. For all children it is essential to work in the outside environment as much as possible. The outdoors environment offers the opportunity to move on a large scale, to be active, noisy and messy and to use all the senses with the whole body.

At InSPE we go outside every day throughout the whole year. It is only in the most inhospitable weather that we don’t venture outdoors.

Some countries have a saying “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”. Therefore you need to make sure that your child has the appropriate clothes for outdoor play. The outdoors offers young children essential experiences vital to their well-being, health and development which is why we think it is so important.

Please note: we are not able to cater for children who are not well enough to be outside. If your child is not well enough to be outside then, most likely, they are not well enough to come to school.
